The Booth (Fort Lauderdale)
At the heart of both studios is a Digidesign Pro Tools HD Accel system running Pro Tools version 8. To provide the warmth and space that only an analog board can give, all Pro Tools outputs are routed separately through SSL’s acclaimed XLogic SuperAnalogue Summing Buss* providing outstanding depth and clarity of sound during tracking, mixdown and mastering. Additionally, all mixes are passed through SSL’s renowned G-Series Master Buss Compressor for that “Radio Ready” touch. Outstanding D/A & A/D conversion is handled by the Lynx Aurora 16. The system is hosted by a blazing fast Apple Mac Pro 8 core Desktop Computer with 8 gig of ram, a spacious Apple Cinema Display, dual DVD burners, and four 750 gig hard drives for daily worry free archiving and backup. For additional archiving the DROBO system is also employed.
Monitoring is performed with Genelec 1030A’s (with the matching by-passable Subwoofer), a pair of original Yamaha NS-10M’s, and Auratone Cubes. The Chicago Location features Genelec 8030A’s with a matching Subwoofer and M-audio small reference monitors.
Headphones: Sony and AKG.
Pre-amps: Manley Dual Mono Mic Pre and Universal Audio 2108.
EQ and Compresssion: Weiss EQ1-MK2 Stereo Mastering Equalizer, Manley Stereo Variable MU Limiter Compressor, Pultec, Sony/Oxford. SSL G series Master Buss Compressor.
Mics: Manley Reference Gold, Neumann, Rode, Audio Technica and Shure.
Hardware and Software Synths: Roland Fantom X6, Digidesign’s Strike, Velvet, DB-33, Mini Grand, Structure, Vacuum, Xpand2 and Hybrid. Reason, UVI Workstation, Stylus RMX, Omnisphere, Trillium, Vanguard, Nexus 2 and Mach V all with extensive libraries. East/West play modules, Symphonic Gold, Goliath, Ministry of Rock, Ra and Stormdrum 2.
